Education in our days, especially for private sector workers, is absolutely necessary, as the technology evolves and the specifications of construction projects become even more demanding.

Our Training Excellence Center, Welding Greek Institute, presents in Greek and Cypriot markets the new program “Welding Processes Coordinator – Standard Level”, which consists 4 modules:

  • Welding processes and equipment
  • Materials and their behaviour during welding
  • Construction and design
  • Fabrication, applications engineering

The Welding Processes Coordinator Standard Level belongs to the so-called Welding Coordination Personnel, and fully meets the requirements of the standards, in proportion to the actions that he is authorized to perform.

After passing the examination of the Written Exam, the Candidate is recognised as a Welding Processes Coordinator – Standard Level [WPC-S] from the International Marketplace and an individual Certificate of attendance of the courses in the ANNEX form of International Diploma Degrees, will accompany his Diploma of Welding Processes Coordinator -Standard Level. The candidate will also have the opportunity to apply for certification and to join the WSTAR Register of the International Welding Coordination Personnel.

The graduates with 3 years of working experience on the subject (or after obtaining 3 years of working experience) will also have the opportunity, to get certified and to participate in the WSTAR Register of Certified Persons of the Hellenic Institute of Welding with International Recognition.

Therefore, the acquisition of the Welding Coordinator Standard Level, and the associated certification, opens the way for the technical & scientific potential of our country, to write an important career in the field of construction in Greece or abroad, from positions of high responsibility.

At the end of the seminar, participants will acquire basic knowledge and skills regarding the following major issues:

  • Planning and control of records
  • Codes and standards – Interpretation and use
  • Safety in welding
  • Confirmation of parent material identity
  • Welding processes
  • Confirmation of consumables identity
  • Verification of the compliance, availability and application in production of approved Welding
  • Procedure Specifications
  • Verification of Welding Personnel Qualification compliance, availability, application in production, and validity
  • Verification that preheating is applied in accordance with specified procedures
  • VT and measurement before welding to verify dimensions, fit-up, and weld preparations are in accordance with engineering drawings.
  • In-process welding surveillance to verify compliance with specified Welding Procedure
  • Specifications
  • Post weld VT and measurement of completed welds against specification and engineering drawing requirements
  • Verification of the compliance and completion of destructive testing where required
  • Verification of the completion and compliance of Non-destructive Testing
  • Defect identification, acceptance/rejection and cause investigation
  • Verification of compliance of documentation (ITPs, procedures, reports)
  • Verification and compliance of engineering drawings and weld symbols
  • Supervision of Certified Welding Specialists and Trainees
  • Review that heat treatment procedures and records are in accordance with specification requirements
  • Verification of Certification of Compliance

In order to enter the Welding Processes Coordinators Standard Level courses, participants should prove at least 4 years job related experience. Therefore, the recommended minimum age for entry to IWS education program is 22 years old. Especially, in the Welding Processes Coordinator –Standard Level courses, can exclusively participate:

  • Diploma Holders from a Higher Education Institution – minimum 3 years of study
  • Diploma Holders from a Higher Education Institution in relevant subject – minimum 2 years of study
  • Graduates from other Countries with similar equivalences

At the end of each module (1, 2, 3, 4), 90 minutes of written examinations are conducted in which the Candidate is asked to answer 80 questions from the Greek National Data Base for each module. After successful written examination in the 4 modules, the Candidate receives the Welding Processes Coordinator Standard Level Diploma.

  • Cost of training: 2.700 euro
  • Cost of exams: 300  euro / Written Exam
  • Participants are given FREE, Written Notes, all texts in Electronic format, and Books for the best support of the learning project.
  • In any case, the candidate can attend the full program of “Welding Processes Coordinator – Advanced Level”, without any additional charge.
